Borrowing Players

Borrowing Players

To take the court, a team needs 4 original players. If you have 4 or 5 original players you can borrow up to TWO players from lower graded or aged teams (see 2nd game rules on SSNA’s website). If you have 6 original players then you are only allowed to borrow ONE player. This means that at any time when a team is borrowing, there is no 8th player or reserve unless the team the player is borrowed from has a bye that week and the game becomes their first and only game.

NOTE: Any player borrowed by a team on a third time will move to that team permanently and will be unable to play for their original team.

As per the SSNA Player Borrowing Policy the “Borrowing Player Form” must be submitted:

  • via email before 3:00pm Friday before the game

or

  • to control before the end of the first quarter of the game

For full competition and borrowing rules please refer to the Sutherland Shire Netball Association’s Website here.

Borrowing of any junior player must be arranged via the coach or manager of the team being borrowed from.

A player can only be borrowed by the same team TWICE. Borrowing a player for the third time must be approved by the Executive prior as the player will move to that team permanently and be unable to play for their original team. Email request of third borrowing to joeyssecretary@gmail.com.

For borrowing rules please refer to SSNA’s Website here.

Borrowing Seniors

The Seniors Team Contact can arrange to borrow players via the Joeys Seniors facebook and Messenger group which can be used to post any borrowing requirements.
