National Netball Day, Saturday 4 June

National Netball Day

Today is National Netball Day, which is dedicated to recognising and celebrating Netball and Australia’s netball community.

Unfortunately due to bad weather, we will have to wait until next Saturday to celebrate by playing the game we love.

Also a special recognition and thank you to all our volunteers who help us get the players on the courts every week.

Key Dates & Announcements

Dear Players & Parents

It was wonderful to see everyone on the Courts last weekend and starting the 2016 season with lots of enthusiasm! We would like to draw your attention to the following observations in the lead up to Day 2 on Saturday!

  • Whilst walking around the courts, we noticed quite a few coloured crop tops being worn. As a reminder, we have requested all players wear a black crop top, preferably razor back to suit the current style of singlets.
  • If your team did not receive either the water bottle caddy or encouragement certificates, can Managers please let Anne or Trace know so we can arrange to meet up and pass these onto you?
  • Please allow additional time to park and get to your court.  It is important to be at the court before the bell sounds as it impacts the coaches team plans (i.e. who will take to the court).  We suggest arriving 30 mins prior, which should be sufficient time to allow for warming up.
  • Please be mindful of your toddlers as they love to wander!   The SSNA stopped play on Saturday as a toddler had gone missing. Fortunately, they were found safe & sound (but near the creek)!
  • On the hot days, please consider a 2nd bottle of water! Many of our players were dehydrated and unwell during the game due to the heat.
  • Remember the borrowing rules (applicable to players only playing two games on the same day) – this will especially be important over the holiday weekend.
  • ANY club volunteer who has still not completed a WWC form (whether or not you need a number) are running the risk of not being permitted on the Courts.  Contact Amanda Brady (Amanda@bradylegal.net.au) to make the necessary arrangements.
  • If you have any problems with your match balls, let us know and we will arrange for it to be replaced.
