Knowing the Rules

Enjoying the game of netball is greatly assisted by having a full understanding of the rules.  This is not only true for players but also parents and spectators.

Therefore as a club, Joeys encourages all players from U12s and over to learn the rules http://netball.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/1_269837.pdf

Once you have reviewed the rules you can sit the online exam to test your skills.   Umpires Online Exam…..Click Here.  (you will need to login with your online netball login).

As a refresher, we recommend and encourage all players and umpires to take the exam each year just before the season starts.

Following successful completion of the exam, those girls wishing to become courtside umpires can let the club know when they register.  They will then be guided through the process by the Umpire’s Convenor and Mentors from the Club.

Umpiring is a great job for kids as it builds character, helps to increase your netball skills, and a great way to earn some money.  Without umpires teams cannot take the court!

If you are interested in umpiring, please see our Umpire Section of this website.

Extra Uniform Collection Day

We understand that there were a few families away and could not make Saturday or Sunday, therefore we have organised one further time to try on / collect / order your new Joeys uniform.

Date:  Friday 20 February
Time:  5.00pm to 6.30pm
Location:  Bellingara Stadium Car Park – Nicole’s Car Boot (the new uniforms) & Sharon’s Car Boot (hoodies & other accessories)

New Uniforms Ready

Dear Joey’s parents and players,

As you are all aware, this year Joey’s is introducing a new uniform, which will be a shirt and a skirt.

The uniforms will be available for collection on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 February. Collection times will be 1-3 pm, in the St Joseph’s School hall.

As all players need to collect a new uniform, we anticipate that these will be very busy days.
The process will move more smoothly if you could please bring with you a copy of your receipt of payment if you have paid online, along with your uniform gift voucher from last year (if you are a returning player) to the collection day. If you have not paid online, could you please print and complete the attached uniform order form, and bring it with you on the day.

For our 2014 NetSetGo Nursery players, please be aware that our most junior members were not involved in fundraising in 2014 hence are not current holders of discount vouchers. No uniforms are required for Nursery players.

Below is an outline of how the day will work:

Registration table – Bring your proof of payment (copy of registration email) and gift voucher to the try on area. If you do not have a completed order form or have not paid online, please proceed to the Registration Table and collect a uniform order form. If you have a $20.00 voucher, please attach it to the form. You will now proceed to the try on area.

Try on area– Samples of different size uniforms will be available for players to try on. Please note that items can be returned if the size is incorrect, as long as it is in its original packaging and with the tags attached.

Collection Area– Pick up uniform and any other items of apparel. If sizes are unavailable, please complete an order form so that items can be re-ordered.

Payment Desk– The final stage of the process is to hand in your completed order form. At this time, any outstanding monies will need to be paid. Only cash or cheque payments will be accepted on the day.

As you can appreciate, this is going to be a huge process. Depending on the numbers of people present, we may need to limit the number of people in the hall at any one time, so please be patient. Please note that there will be no additional uniform collection days. Should you require additional uniform items, please contact us on:

Sharon Munro- sharondarrin2003@yahoo.com.au

Nicole Barnes- sohorganised@gmail.com

Finally, if you are wondering what to do with your old bodysuits, please consider bringing them along and they will be donated to St Joseph’s School and charities which support our New Zealand and/or Fijian neighbours. There will be a box placed at the front entrance on the collection days to drop them in. Girls who attend St Joseph’s may like to keep their body suits for school netball competitions.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday or Sunday.

Sharon and Nicole
