To take the court, a team needs 5 original players. In this case they are allowed to borrow TWO players from lower graded or aged teams (see 2nd game rules). If you have 6 original players then you are only allowed to borrow ONE player. This means that at any time when a team is borrowing, there is no 8th player or reserve unless the team the player is borrowed from has a bye that week and the game becomes their first and only.
Secretary’s Report Day 2
Day 2 was a huge success for the club as a whole with approximately 80% of our teams coming home with a win. Congratulations to all and keep up the great spirit of our club.

Score Sheets
Can managers please be aware if your team is placed first on the official draw in the fixture book or on the SSNA website, then you are expected to collect the score sheet from control prior to the game and for the 8’s and 9’s, return it also. The winning team for 10’s and up are expected to return the scoresheet to control at the end of the game. Fixture books have been ordered and will be distributed to coaches when they are received.
Secretary’s Report Day 1
I love the sight on the courts on Day 1 and the sounds of the whistles; it makes the build-up to the day worthwhile! Hopefully everyone had a great start to the season despite the rain hanging around throughout the day. I am aware of one girl who had an unfortunate start. Lucy Filetti in the 12A’s took to the court and collided with her partner within minutes which has resulted in a broken collar bone. We are all in shock to the severity of the injury in comparison to the incident and we wish Lucy a speedy recovery. The two week holiday break in the middle is a small bonus!!
There have been a few smaller injuries throughout the grades and with girls booking in absences throughout the season, there are still a few teams in need of another player. If you know someone who wants to play netball and thinks they have missed out, can you please ask them to contact me as soon as possible?
Thank you to Anne Heptinstall for finding our new sponsor ‘Number Works ‘n’ Words’; the girls were very excited toreceive a gift at the commencement of the season. We are still in the process of distributing the drink bottles so if you haven’t yet received them, you will be soon.
Our 18.1’s were the only ones to fall victim to the weather when the game was cancelled at half-time. A half-game has to be played for the score to be accepted for the leader board and for points for and against.
Presidents Report Day 1
The Committee is very excited as we are in the process of updating our Joeys Website. We are also very interested if there are any members (or members who may have contacts) interested in becoming a sponsor of the club. Please we would love to hear from you!
Our Club presentation date has been finalized and is being held at Kareela Golf and Social Club Function Room, Kareela. Club Presentation night ……….Wednesday 9th October from 6pm – 9.30pm
Also this year we have decided to try something very special to thank our coaches & managers for all their efforts in the season. We would like to show our appreciation with a few drinks & nibbles on Sunday 4th August 5.30pm-7.30pm also at Kareela golf club function room.
Please mark these dates on your calendars.
It would be good to see if everyone could make an effort to become a member of this club as a sign of our thanks for their continued support of Joeys Netball Club.
Any feedback in regards a Swifts Game would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible.
Good Luck for Day 2.
Enjoy and have fun.
